We R Memory Keepers Guest Designer Spot
Hi all! The day has finally come. I am guest designing over at We R Memory Keepers! Yup...THE one and only We R! I'm so excited about this opportunity! I own quite a few of their tools among other items in their amazing line of craft supplies so this is a perfect opportunity for me. You can find me on their blog HERE! Head on over and check it out.
With that said let's get to the project.
With that said let's get to the project.
We R allowed me to play with their Chalkboard Collection. It is so so pretty and there's so much that can be made with this collection. I decided to go with a layout. That's been my project of choice lately.
So how do you like We R's Chalkboard collection? Its pretty right? I tried to use as much of it as I could to showcase the awesomeness of it. There are papers, tags, letters and so on in the collection. I also used a few of the We R tools to add some embellishments to my layout.
I used the Crop-a-dile to attach the brad on the top corner of the page and the Sew Easy to create a zig zag pattern to sew some pretty Posy Trendy Twine into.
I used a picture from a few months ago when my daughter was a tiny little thing. She just turned a year old last month so going back and scrapping her early days makes me a little sad. A bit happy since I get to sleep now but still a little sad because she's already getting so big.
For more on the layout and this collection head over to the We R blog!

Twine Ornaments
I mentioned awhile back that I would be starting my stint on Trendy Twine's design team in January. Well, they have graciously asked me to post as a guest designer this month. Of course I said yes!
For my first Trendy Twine project I decided to make something a little different
than I normally make, ornaments made out of twine! Oh yea, you can make
some pretty stuff with twine! It's a perfect project to do with the kids.
I made some in traditional colors.....
Peppermint Stick Twine
Twisted Lime Twine w/a hint of Peppermint Stick
And some in not-so-traditional colors....
Blueberry Twine

Blue Berry Twine
My husband helped me make them. He thinks his is better! Hmmph. He really enjoyed making them and actually sad he wants to make more. Crazy...my husband want to help me with a craft project?! Unheard of!
I was thinking of glittering up these
babies but decided against it since it may hide the pretty twine and
unfortunately I didn't think to adorn these with pretty buttons or other
embellishments until after I took these pictures (you know how
time-consuming that is!) so here they are in all their naked glory. I
think adorned or not they are super cute.
Keep on reading to learn how to make these cute and simple ornaments!
HOW TO:
Ingredients
- Small water balloons (yea, I made a mistake and used bigger balloons. Unless you want giant ornaments or to use a ton of twine then use water balloons.)
- White glue
- Water
- Small bowl
- Trendy Twine
- Wax paper
- Ribbon
1. Blow up balloons to to desired size and tie ends.
2. In a small bowl make a solution of 2 parts glue and 1 part water.
3. Coat the twine with glue and squeeze out the excess.
4. Wrap twine around balloon in in desired pattern, leaving some openings all around.
5. Lay twine ball ball on wax paper to dry and rotating every few hours to allow all sides to dry.
6. When completely dry, pop balloon and remove the deflated balloon from an opening in the cording.
7. Loop ribbon or additional twine through an opening in the ornament to hang.
8. Embellish with glitter, buttons, etc.
You can use multiple colors of twine to make it a colorful and even more interesting!
I hope you try it out. There's so much you can do to decorate these and pretty them up some more. They'll look great on your tree and you can color coordinate them to match your decor! Actually you can even throw these in a bowl or something and place in the middle of a table as decor.
ENJOY!!
P.S. If you try this out I would love to see your creations!

My Thoughts Exactly Guest Designer Day: Triple Scoop Waterfall Card
The day you have all been waiting for has finally arrived! Oh OK, it's the day I have been waiting for but it was nice to dream that you all were waiting in anticipation too. Today I get to show you a project I made for my guest designer spot for My Thoughts Exactly stamp company. Have you seen their stamps yet? LOVE!! You can mix and match the words to make your own phrases. They are so versatile! You can evenb use each word individually as I did in my project for today. You get to see some pictures today and a video! Yes, I made a short video to show you what the heck my project does because poor little me had no clue going into it!
Lately I have been trying new techniques or types of projects. I started with the step cards and made a few different styles of them. The I tried my hand at bookmarks and made a few of those and I made a shape card on Tuesday, the first of it's kind for me. There's probably more in there but I can't think of what else I've done. I seriously am always trying something new...always....whether it be a new technique, a new toy, or a new style. I am in love with learning. On that note let's get on to my *sweet* project.
As I mentioned earlier, I am always up for trying something new. This project is no different in that it's something I have never made before. Awhile back waterfall cards were the rage but as is usual with me I am really slow with getting into what the cool trend is. I am like that with everything actually. So I had seen these waterfall cards around and never really cared to make them. I thought you make a card, attach some flaps to it and there ya go. You just flip the flaps up and that's it. Well, I was wrong. Wait...did I just say that? Don't tell my husband! He will use it against me for life! I found a video tutorial and that is when I found out what a waterfall card REALLY is...an awesome interactive card!
Before I knew what a waterfall card was I already knew I wanted to use the super cool triple scoop ice cream cone from SVG Attic's Ethan's Cool Treats SVG Collection and My Thoughts Exaclty's so to find out that parts of the card can move made me even more excited! I didn't even know if I could pull it off but guess what? I did! Woohoo to me!
Now to show you what it does. It looks like just flaps you flip up right? The card in action is so much cooler! Here's the video. By the way it's my first video ever and I enjoyed making it and editing it.

I really hope you enjoyed my guest designer project! If you have any questions you can email me at 19eightyexpressions@gmail.com!
Don't forget to check out SVG Attic and My Thoughts Exactly. The two companies are working together to bring you coordinating SVG and stamp collections! How awesome is it that I am on the design team for SVG Attic and get to be a guest designer for My Thoughts Exactly? I had the guest designer spot before I made it onto the SVG Attic design team and had no clue the two were collaborating. What an exciting day for me to find out I get to work with both!!
Psst, Monday My Thoughts Exactly is debuting two new stamp sets. You don't want to miss it! Sadly I will and it can't be helped. I really am bummed.

Guest Designer for The Paper Dolls!
Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
I am honored to be a guest designer this week for the fabulous Paper Dolls, Tamara and Thienly.
If you are part of the crafting community that uses SVGs then you may have come across their work and know what amazing crafters they are. Well, obviously if you came here from their blog then you know all about them! Hehe. If you don't know how amazing they are head on over to their blog, The Paper Dolls. They both are such amazing crafters that have truly been an inspiration for me.
This week's design is a mini doll house. Adorable, right? I am starting to see a theme here....paper dolls last week, doll house this week. Love the genius of it!!
As a guest designer I have the task of creating a project using the dollhouse SVG file as inspiration for you all. Here is what I made:
Housewarming Gift Tag
How to:
Using Make the Cut (MTC) software I sized the mini dollhouse file down so the front of the house measured 3" x 5".
*Note - when sizing a file I make sure to size the entire file down at one time, in this case the windows and main house. It makes things so much easier*
I then cut out each piece of the file, including the house in it's original state.
To create the look I was going for I trimmed off the sides and bottom of the house so I was left with just the front, where the door is.
I made the roof in MTC by using a rectangle from the basic shapes, sizing it down, and setting it at an angle. I then duplicated that rectangle, mirrored it and placed the two together as so:
I then welded the two together to create my roof.
In order to create the light blue shadow layer I created another rectangle from MTC's basic shapes. I then welded the two pieces (roof and rectangle) together to create this:
I sized the image to be slightly bigger than my main house so it was indeed a shadow layer.
After cutting out the shadow layer I had to trim the two extra peaks that I didn't need. I only wanted the center peak.
When assembling the house I used pop up squares for the window frames that I had to cut down to size. I also used pop up squares to adhere the roof.
The red flowers were made using a hand punch.
I used a border punch for the red eaves that drop down from the roof.
The door knob is a tarnished silver brad.
The sentiment was printed out on white cardstock in blue and inked along the edges in blue as well.
I lightly inked the edges of the windows, doors, and house in blue.
I hole punched the top of the light blue shadow layer in order to string a light blue ribbon through.
There you have it, my housewarming gift tag!
I hope you enjoyed it!
In closing, I would like to thank the Dolls for allowing me the opportunity to be apart of their new venture. I had fun making this house! Thank you!!
