Happy Saturday everyone! I got a little scrapbooking done today and used my brand spanking new Silhouette Cameo. I love the thing. Granted, I have the Silhouette SD and love that so I knew I'd love the Cameo as well.
Today's layout is my entry into Unity Stamp Co.'s stamp challenge for August which you can get to using this LINK. Here's inspiration:
The challenge is to use the card or scrapboook template as inspiration or you can use the color palette. Either one works. The only real rule is that you use Unity stamps on your project. Easy enough for me since I have plenty, although not enough!
I ended up doing the layout challenge using the color palette. I didn't exactly mean to use the color palette but it just ended up that way. In fact When i was trying to figure out what colors to add for some "pop" to my layout I realized I was using the pinks and browns of the palette. With that I decided to incorporate the blue and green as well. Why not? I was stuck so that was perfect!
OK, so on to my layout!!
The "Love in an Instant" sentiment comes from Unity's {insta-live, love, dream} stamp set and the "life documented" sentiment was a freebie I received with an order. Super cute right? I am in love with these stamps. Too bad money isn't infinite. I would be the proud owner of many many more sets.
The background paper is from DCWV's Sweet stack. I double layered the flags and the butterflies for dimension. With the large butterflies I layered with a dark blue under and the green on top. The blue on the large butterfly bodies actually comes from the body of the itty bitty butterflies I have on the page. Well, not those but others that I cut out. I don't have any of those cool pearl glue things so I had to improvise. Not too shabby of an idea though. Worked great!!
The pink rectangles I used with the lattice cutouts come from My Thoughts Exactly. It was a Project Life Freebie card. I sized it down a bit to fit my needs. Here's the LINK to the freebie. Thank's Alyssa!!
Hope you have a great weekend. Now off to link my project up to Unity's challenge.
