Been soooo long

I'm actually considering coming back into the crafting world.  I have been getting that itch.  I miss those days and the fun of being on design teams and just being creative.

It's been a long time since I've been around.  I haven't crafted in well over 1.5 years and it's been just as long since I've touched my Silhouette Cameo.  Poor sad thing is brand new and barely used.  I guess that dust cover was a good investment!  I don't even know what the new trends are.  I'm going to be so lost when I come back.

We R Memory Keepers Guest Designer Spot

Hi all!  The day has finally come.  I am guest designing over at We R Memory Keepers!  Yup...THE one and only We R!  I'm so excited about this opportunity!  I own quite a few of their tools among other items in their amazing line of craft supplies so this is a perfect opportunity for me.   You can find me on their blog HERE!  Head on over and check it out.

With that said let's get to the project.

We R allowed me to play with their Chalkboard Collection.  It is so so pretty and there's so much that can be made with this collection.  I decided to go with a layout.  That's been my project of choice lately.

So how do you like We R's Chalkboard collection?  Its pretty right?  I tried to use as much of it as I could to showcase the awesomeness of it.  There are papers, tags, letters and so on in the collection.  I also used a few of the We R tools to add some embellishments to my layout.

I used the Crop-a-dile to attach the brad on the top corner of the page and the Sew Easy to create a zig zag pattern to sew some pretty Posy Trendy Twine into.

I used a picture from a few months ago when my daughter was a tiny little thing.  She just turned a year old last month so going back and scrapping her early days makes me a little sad.  A bit happy since I get to sleep now but still a little sad because she's already getting so big.

Hipsters Layout

I finally made a layout of my other kid.  Poor neglected kid,  I know...bad mom!  I recently bought DCWV's Neon Chic Stack with my daughter in mind.  I figured I'd get plenty of use out of it with all the neon and 80s colors she wears.  I was correct!

I used some Unity Stamp Co. stamps on my layout.  Did you see their latest sale?  55% off everything!  I have my order in.  :)  

My inspiration came from the current issue of Paper Issues.  I used this sketch to create my masterpiece!

Pretty hip.  I try.  :)  She actually came in and said she really liked the layout.  Makes up for me being a bad mom when it comes to scrapping her pictures!

Rosette Tutorial

I had a request from a fellow crafter to make a video on how to make a rosette. The video is somewhat of a mess.  The format it was recorded in couldn't be edited so no pretty titles or anything.  Also the dang rosette gave me issues...of course!  But I carried on and finished.

Vroom Vroom

Happy Monday all.  Yea, I only say that because I'm already off work and sipping on a glass of wine.  :)  When I woke up this morning I wasn't so happy.  Tired is more like it.  Well this weekend I decided to play along with the DCWV Stack-a-holic Template Challenge.  I usually do so no surprise there.  I almost thought I wouldn't make the deadline this time though so I had to haul butt.  

This month's challenge was pretty fun.  I really liked the layout.

Here is my rendition.

Oh I know it sort of doesn't make sense that I have Vroom Vroom as the title but it did before I added the frames.  My daughter was in one of those car shopping carts.  Before I had to alter the picture you could see the steering wheel.  In the bottom small picture you can see it.  Hope it makes sense now.  

I used DCWV's Celebration Stack for this layout.  It worked great with the colors of the picture.  

The Polaroid frame and the two smaller frames are from the Basic Grey line.  I found them at Joann's on sale awhile back.  I finally had a chance to use them.  

I designed the title in Silhouette Studio, layered it, and embossed it.  

Oh and guess what!  I FINALLY learned how to make rosettes the proper way.  I always somehow just made up ways to make rosettes.  Yea, don't ask.  I have had a hate hate relationship with those pretty things for two years now but I finally figured it out and now I like them. 

The "Enjoy the Ride" tag is from Chic tags and is a free printable file.  I found it via Pinterest.

I can't leave out my fave twinery right?  The pretty pretty and perfectly coordinated twine is from Trendy Twine.
