Supplies:
Ceramic Tiles (4.25" x 4.25" tiles cost me $0.14 - $0.16 each at Home Depot)
Paper (it can be napkins, gift wrap, scrapbook paper, any type really)
Mod Podge
Acrylic sealer (I bought clear gloss acrylic wood finisher from Home Depot)
Felt pads (you can use foam or other types of backing as well)
Instructions:
I cut squares of scrapbook paper from the DCWV Citrus Stack into 4.25" x 4.25" squares to fit onto the tiles.
Apply a coat of Mod Podge to the tiles and placed the paper on top. Let dry for 15 minutes.
Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge on top of the paper. Let dry for 15 minutes.
Repeat 2-3 times.
Spray with acrylic sealer. Let dry for 30 minutes.
Repeat 3 times or according to directions on can.
Adhere felt pads to back of coasters.
That's it! Now you have super cute coasters to use or give as gifts!

Love them. I have been thinking of doing another set with patterned paper. I really like the look of it. I am in the process of making a set like mine for my mother-in-law.

Super cute. I have a boat load of the little 1" & 2" tiles. I think I will just have to make some super cute magnets out of them with some halloween cardstock.

I love tile coasters and I have made a ton, but I always have the issue of when a sweaty cup is picked-up from the coaster, the whole coaster comes with it. This leads to coasters being dropped on the floor and getting ugly rings on them. Have you had that problem at all?

Are you sealing your Mod Podge Projects with a Finishing spray like the acrylic or the polyurethane? I have found that if I do not get enough sealant on my projects that they are easily marred.
Anonymous Nov 13 poster, I have not had that problem yet. Maybe I spray enough acrylic. I know if you leave it as just Mod Podge it's kind of sticky.
Kerry, I seal my projects with a wood finish acrylic. I seal it about three times before I use the item.
I love your coasters, I have been thinking about doing something with my digital designs & mod podge, so I might try this. Do you think it would work with heavy cork tiles as I have small grand children & I can see them breaking normal tiles?
Fliss, I'm not quite sure what cork tile is but I looked it up and I think it would be fine to make these coasters with it. Hope it works! Let me know if it did.
